The iCom Meta Modeling System supports the specification of advanced electronic information systems. Database systems and custom applications are built fully automatically from formal functional specifications and definitions.

Advanced Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and applications have been custom-built for the VA using the iCom meta modeling process and system. The applications are in use at 76 VA hospitals. Automatic decision support and transactional quality management are provided in real-time.
